Apr 21. Sun. Sun & cold wind - like yesterday. Dreamed all night (when I wasn't coughing) of Zenda decaying or being chloroformed but she came purring around this morning - Later had a bad hemorage from her stomach. Poor little dear. It's that boy's bullets, tho' the wound's all healed up on the outside! I got up at noon. Papa went to Cro'nest & came back enthusiastic about little Henny-penny - his two teeth and his short dresses! I "ciphered" & wrote. I am so sorry for dear little Mother, she grieves so for little Zendavesta & is so good. She got worse (Zenda) in the afternoon. Edith was here a long while & then Char & Claude. I went and telephoned for Dr. Tegg. For two hours Mother sat and stroked the dear Kitty while I entertained (?) Charlotte & Helen Davis - Just as they went Dr. Tegg came and finally took little Zenda away to doctor her - or - the other thing Apr. 22 Mon. A blue day for us. The Dr. phoned Zenda's hemorage of the stomach had stopped but she wouldn't eat of her own accord. I went to the office but felt very rocky & my eyes hurt tonight Apr 23 Tues. Went to Dr. Tegg's this noon. Dear " Little" meowed to me and tried to purr a little when I stroked and held
