3/8/07 "45 Minutes from Bway"
Mch 7. Thurs. Bright fine. Lunched with Mother at Seel's. Young Edw. Schermerhorn of Brooklyn (the Tree-man) called tonight and we had a very nice visit with him (till 11:30!) He's about 28 & well educated, prosperous & attractive. Mar 8. Fri. Busy this week. Lunched at Sibleys with GCB & went to Nan's to have my hair done, then at night went to Mary's to supper & in the evening we went to see Fay Templeton and a funny man in "45 minutes from Broadway" - which was very amusing. Hutchinson & Dickens sat behind us. We had a nice visit, incidentally, & there are some "Mary" songs. One "So long, Mary, don't forget to come back soon" and "so, long Mary, how we hate to have you go!" &c. Very late home & very tired. Mar. 9. Sat. Busy busy busy - but Spring is certainly in the air - seen overhead and slush underfoot. Tonight Miss Flack, Miss Bradshaw & I went to Edwards
& had soda water before coming home. Wrote & copied from Mrs. S's family record book tonight Mar. 10 Sun. Had a fine time with Henry this noon. Held him a long time. Papa came up and ad- mired him too. He's getting awfully comfortable, to hold and such a dearie. Edith
