some Princeton boys who were on a walking tour after supper they (the girls) took the horse and made a call, and Mr. Morris came while they were gone and I had a very nice chat with him (& Mrs. A.) and like him very much. July 16 Mon. Woke up an unheard of hour and got off (just) at 6 o'clock. The Dr. almost made me miss the train. He tho't it went at 6:10. Mother met me & took my satchel home - the dear. & I went right to work and worked hard all day. Papa got home this p.m - went to Syracuse, Watertown, the Islands, Pulaski, the Hill & Oswego, and had a fine time. I went to bed at 9 and had 10 July 17 Tues. hours sleep tonight. It rained again this morning - but cleared off at noon, so I had to lug my Mackintosh home. Edith had invited Mary & me down tonight, with Myra
 and Pearl Crawley, to celebrate Bess Hutchison's birthday - Miss Dickens also was hostess (They are staying with Edith while Elsie & Will are away). We sat on the piazza sometime (waiting for Pearl Crawley who's a funny girl) and then went in to such a pretty table with favors. cards. &c. &c. and of course a birthday cake. We had a real nice time. Bess H. dressed up in her outing shirt &c., she is to wear to the Adir- ondacks next week. Edith may go the week after, with the Crawleys. (to Nervana camp, Indian Lake.)
