a new bridge & I tho't he was going to dig out a root but he didn't today. flinch tonight. Oct. 30 Tues. Horrid cold rain all day. The worst ever. Lunched with GCB at Sibley's. Fixed my room to- night (after cleaning) Henry picture &c. till late. Claude went to N.Y. to select club electroliers. Oct. 31 Wed Snow! but it cleared off later. Went to "The Belle of MayFair" with Edith. It was very good "There's going to be Wedding in. Hanover Square" - "Tomorrow" - "How'd you like to be a Gibson Girl?" "I knew a girl - her name is Mary" &c.&c. Bed late. Nov. 1 Thurs. The day I've been dreading - cold & bright. Went to Dr. Scranton's & had a big tooth out & a root. He put so much cocaine on it really didn't hurt - the pulling. Headache all p.m. tho' but I felt so relieved in my mind I enjoyed reading "The Fighting Chance" tonight, very much. Nov. 2. Fri. Fine day but felt rocky all day. It's the cocaine of yesterday. Lunched at Sibley's with Papa again. He & Mother went to the church fair to supper. I walked home with Rose Courneen & we had quite a chat about the Ojibway &c. Read all evening. Went to bed at ten! Nov. 3. Sat. Claude's & Char's 4th wedding day. A fine day. Mother went up this morning to see Henry bathed. I rode "Diana" home at noon went to see Mary Manning in "Glorious Betsy" with Mary tonight
