A fine clear day. J.G. went Lunched at Sibley's with
Mother and Gertrude and shopped a little afterward, Edith came home to supper with me. She
is going to Indian Lake
Saturday. (Miss H. & Miss D. went last Sat.) Papa came home this pm and told us about the hill. They are living (daytimes) in
the barn - are talking of fixing up the granary & getting a tent. I sent
Auntie (8/1/06) back her 2 notes for $30.00 each & interest &
Mother is going to send her a box of
things. We talked most of the evening E. didn't stay late.
Wed. Aug 1.Dear Boy 's 40th birthday. We all went
up there tonight and "drank his health" in lemonade out in the
moonlight on the hill. It was very beautiful. James
came up too, and walked down with us.
Gertrude went down with me this a.m. early.
Thurs. Aug. 2
A fine day. Went to Cook's tonight ( G. & I.) and saw "My friend from India"
very well done.
Fri. Aug. 3
Pouring rain this a.m. but

spend the day, just the same & J.W. & his wife started on their automobile trip, via.
