We had Martini cocktails before dinner - which was very elaborate. Hors-d'euvre, black bean soup - roast goose - lots of vegetables, onions, rolls, plumb puddings mince and Marlborough pies, fruits, coffee &c.&c.&c. lots of souvenirs (those awful "worms" &c. &c.) and several kinds of wine, cigars & cigarettes &c. The Hoyts had lovely presents. It was fun to see the "drawing" and the Warner boys and their mother brought more while we were there.
