May Bragdon Diary, December 10, 1905 – December 17, 1905, p. 81

got there and some Chicago cousins came later. Hamilton showed me his latest hotel plan and I "improved upon it" when I got home. It's fun. Dec. 11 Mon. Mother says "5 yrs. ago JW. & his wife sailed for Europe." They are getting on fast with the Orphan Asylum. Tues. Dec 12 Spent sometime at the Alliance Bank (U.S. Tel. bond, stock &c.) And then went to Wed. Dec 13. Mrs. Weston's and was fitted for my green dress. Dec. 14. Thurs. All these nights I sit and read - perhaps play flinch - and Zozie comes & sits in my lap. Dec. 15 Fri. Cold today. Lunched with Papa at Sibley's and was fitted again - Xmas shopping &c. Tonight Mother took me to our church to see Harry Stork give a very "slick" magician- performance. Linn Conklin (?) same up with us. Wore my new dress. Mary is now working for the Uni State Board of Charities. Mae Stull had an operation at Dr. Lee's hospital Monday. Dec. 16 Sat. Clear, cold & nice. My shopping almost done - but I "browsed" at Edwards tonight and "figured" and wrote. Char & Claude dined at Dr. Taylor's last night with Miss Hamilton, Miss Holinquist & Miss McCook (also Geo. Eastman, Hy Strong & young Lindsay) Jim is sick. Dec. 17 Sun. Did up Christmas presents all the morning and after dinner went over to the "Y" (via. Arnold's with a letter from Miss Major - when I saw Jim

and Clarence Jones) Heard Mrs. Montgomery give a delightful talk on "James" (Epistle) and saw her afterward - and Mrs. Davis & Christine
