and I still like it - and Charlotte when she doesn't have to make too much exertion Oct. 12 Thur Bright again and quite cold. The first installment of Papa's money from Van Dusen came (I'm glad to say) and he bought clothes &c. and took me to lunch at Sibley's - Afterwards I bought new shoes &c. I forgot to say that J.G. was nominated for Mayor, again Monday. Stopped at the library tonight. Fussed most of the evening - Played flinch. Oct. 13. Fri. This ought to have been an unlucky day, but it wasn't very. It was beautiful. Mother ran a birthday party - purse &c. for Mrs. Steele (91 yrs old) and so I came home and got my nice little supper all alone. The family came soon after. Oct 14. Sat. Another gorgeous day, but a busy one - Even Gilmore didn't get to the football game - but J.W. went away. Tonight I was dead tired, but went to the theatre (top) with Lura & Laura. It was a first night. Harry Woodruff in "The Genius and the model" The author DeMille made a speech - There were gorgeous flowers (the lovliest basket of violets I ever saw)
