It was at Davis's (Lura & Helen the committee) I wore my new dress and new hat - and didn't get it soiled either as it cleared off - or rather, stopped raining, before we came home and I wasn't crowded going up. Matie didn't telegraph - strange to say - but May Rogers did - (she went to New York to see Clare

's new baby - "Roger Whitman") and Mabel sent us a poem. The dinner was very nice (tho' the tomato soup curdled!) fried chicken, rice balls, sweet potatoes, gravy, rolls, tomatoe, lettuce & mayonnaise, and grape fruit We had a very good time tho' Helen seemed quite used up and didn't come for - pedro, so we only played a little while. Nellie got first (a picture) and Chat last (a jap-doll) Hamilton played substitute (and Mrs. D. a little while) Edith bought Chat's lovely blue silk dress for nine dollars! And carried it home. We are certainly getting aged or losing our enthusiasm or something - some of us- say Helen, Lura, possibly Edith . I think
