Mrs. Sing, where upon Gilmore offered me $75. He brought me a map showing it. Helen is quite exercised over JMI (so am I) flinch with Mother tonight &c. Sept. 16 Sat. Still lovely, but warmer. A very busy day. Got my new shirt waist and all (hurrah for Mary Murray!) This evening read and then sewed - late. Sept. 17 Sun. Much warmer. Read magazine and made prints this p.m. and then had a long and delightful session at "The Divine Fire" - upstairs - feel pretty rocky but dressed to go to call on Matie Arnold- Hawley - Flossie Looney and her Father and Mother came for a short call. Then I went to Matie's. Found Lura on the front steps but no one else here. We sat an hour and talked. I walked home with her to supper. (peach short cake) & a nice visit in the piazza before and inside afterward. Wrote some later. Pretty used up today. Sept. 18-22 Tues-Fri. Uneventful days. I didn't go out a single evening but Wednesday - when I rode down to Edith's and had a nice little visit up in her room. Took a ride (from the office) out on the east side that night, too. Played flinch, read, &c. Some correspondence with N.Y. about the mortgage
