Sept. 12 Tues. Rather a dubious day, but Miss Flack and Miss Spencer came over tonight without umbrellas and we had quite a nice time talking about "The Lakes" &c. Miss S.

is quite enter- taining. Her brother came after them and just after they started it poured so that they got good & wet as they would not take umbrellas! Sept. 13. Wed. Dark rainy morning but it cleared off cold and Char and Claude went off to Wyoming to visit Mrs. Coonley - Ward (?)
(B of Ward & his millionaire wife). I went up to Cro'nest and dined with Josephine and we had a cozy chat by the fire afterwards. She told me a lot about Mrs. Davis's school (a new building this year) Her work, the girls, masquerades and Germans &c. &c. Lovely moonlight! Sept. 14 Thu. Clear and cold and fine JG. back Flack has gone on his vacation (Muskoka) Sept. 15 Fri. Lunched with Helen at the "Y" to- day and she told me of Jack Mc I's fall from grace and Miss Every's doings at the Pointe. Hamilton came back yesterday, full of it. He also brought me an offer of $50 for "Mandalay" from
