Aug 21. Mon.
We all slept fine. (I woke at
Belleville, I think & some other time). It was
smooth and be-au-ti-ful - when we got up at quarter of six and
saw the lovely land of the free looming before us. We went right
forward on the deck and staid there (Kodaked some) till we
got to the deck. It was a lovely morning. The "special" (we were
in the first one) took its leisurely way to the city. After waiting
for "Joseph" (& Exchange) I got
home after eight just in time for Mother's good breakfast. Hustled around a little &
wasn't much late to the office. J.G. has gone to Boston to meet
Philipp and Anderson. J.W.
has taken off the mourning band in
his arms (& looks better. Had a nice postal from Claude (&
Mother one) and letter from Trudy
wanting me to go down to
Montreal,
