apples &c. I sat with Carol
(and with Mrs. Flack going - a long visit) got home
about 8. It was really a lovely day all thro' - too many people in
the glen - but of course we had to expect that. I went right to bed and to sleep.
Sept. 19 Thurs.Bess Hutchinson & Mame Dickens came up here and spent the
evening (I was there a week ago last Sunday) and we had such a nice
time. They are dear girls both - had lovely pictures of Camp
Nirvana - want me to go next year.
Sept 20 Fri.J.W. got home from
Europe today, looking fine - lost his camera,
his cane and his watch(?) A hot day today!
Sept 21 Sat.
Cooler & nice. Mrs. JGC lost her diamond horseshoe pin. A
postman found it and the reward was five dollars! Went to see
Josephine at Cro'nest, but didn't. Wrote and figured
all the evening. Papa
left the
Post Express and is to write a history of Orange
Co. for Mr. Van Dusen.

I went to bed so late last
night it seemed midnight in my dark room when Mother
called me at 6:30 - but it was a lovely day -
cool - pale sunshine and beautiful clouds. After breakfast walked to the
B R& P Station and met the Flacks
- Ethel, Carol,
Reg and Mrs.! and
we took the 8:15 train to Mumford. Then we walked
