Mexico
for the last
time. She sails from
Europe with Miss Williams
July 3rd. I wrote her a "pasted" steamer
letter till all hours last night and am a wreck today. It's boiling
hot anyway. Have been to Cooks
(11th) with
Papa & to the
Lyceum (19th) with the Mac Arthur's
for Vaudeville but don't
fancy vaudeville. One day (12th) I went down
to the Lake
and sat on the "Esplanade" & read
awhile. The new Park is a Horror. Edith
tells me she's engaged to young
Woodward, the principal at Mexico
. I tho't so at
Christmas time, but hated to believe it. However _____!
Schanch, Kurtz and Vulhop have "been in" at the office &
Smith has deserted us for the St.
Louis people and the business is going to the bow wow's
a great deal more than it need to. I wish I could like and respect
my employers as I used to dear old J.G.
Has like another man these later years.

tonight. It was lovely
moonlight. Had a nice visit with Brother and Sister and Mrs. W and walked down to Amelie Frey's. She and
John just back from the Brick
Church picnic
to Portage. We sat on the
"moony" verandah & visited.

Little Alice Bradshaw has a persistent lover around!
