Club House, and a most magnificent walk thro' the Big
Woods afterwards - I found an ideal spot just beyond them for a
rest by the Lake- way above it on a bluff - an
old stump for a back - The big lake
singing to me
beneath - It was ideal - so was the weather - all day - After red and
lemonade we walked back to
Sea Breeze - The next Tuesday night
(18th)
Mother & I had a lovely little trip to
Newport via. Glen Haven. Dr. & Mrs.
Scranton came too - I was glad to meet
Mrs. S.
There were
numerous College Alumni and tallyho & auto. parties and we had the
usual fish and chicken dinner - and came back Sea Breeze way by moonlight. It was an ideal night It
is really warm at last, & we are sitting out evenings &c. I went
up to Davis's one Sunday pm (9th) and discussed Hamilton
marriage and "Jack
" - Summer vacations &c. &c. Little Amelie has been veryvery sick - two nurses & two doctors -
(complications afterwards) but as now sitting up & out of danger. They
gave her up entirely for two days! JWC is back from his yachting trip & gailey planning
a trip to Europe - leaving Gilmore in the lurch again about
