Papa's 75th birthday.
Warm and fine. Getting settled in the new offices (I'm now in 203) Papa read thought It was his birthday and I gave him umbrella Apr. 30 Tues. &c May 2. Thurs. Am reading "Annals of an Actor's Boarding House" - quite funny. Struggling with a new hat at Miss Karen's (brown). Mr. Page died today (May 2) after an operation May 3 Fri.

Lunched with Papa (& Bertha Gutman) at Sibley's a new baby girl at Russell's, (opposite) arrived this evening. Read - full day May 4 Sat. Cold & rain like winter. Went to see May Irwin tonight with Laura & Lura - quite funny - A play by Geo. Ade. May 5 Sun. Went over to Mary's & she & Nellie & I went out the R & E. road to "Spring House" station to look for a boarding house Mr. Swinburne told us of - we found it - lovely view & all but the family had moved away. Interviewed Mr. & Mrs ? of Chase's nursery. Got home just in time for dinner & read "The Trimmed Lamp" &c. by O. Henry - Very good May 6. Mon. Rain. Very busy on JG's ledger. JW away. Went with Mary (& others to see Jessie Bonesteel in "Sunday" at the National. May 7. Tues. Rain today. Claude went to N.Y. played flinch with Mother - Busy. May 8. Wed. Fine Spring day - Rode Diana for the first time. Tonight went out to Maplewood with Mary on the new trolley - Interviewed the man
