Apr. 1. Mon.
Got breakfast, but Mother was soon up. Did a lot of errands
this noon - bank &c. &c. Tonight went to "The girl in
White" (Orrin Johnson) with Mary.
Edith & Miss
Maise sat next us. Pretty good (?)
Apr. 2 Tues.
Still cold & horrid.
Mother's cold not much better.
Papa read aloud to us tonight. To bed early
Apr. 3. Wed.Mother some better but used up at noon
be- cause a boy shot at Zenda out in
the alley this morning - & wounded her badly (3 holes! in her "tummy")
and mother had to take her to Dr. Knight's and watch
him probe it &c.&c. Of course Zenda
was a little angel. She is pretty much done up & hides away & keeps
still We reported it to the police & had visits from various ones
- day and night men! - Anyway I hope they will break up the gang of boys
about here.

Warmer. Trudy dear came from
Oswego - for the end of her vacation. Were
visiting this eve. when Edith Andrews
came too! On her way home - we fixed up my divan & slept 3 in a
room (after a very pleasant visit) It rained all night long. Edith is to teach Latin in Addison
High School next year. Henry
sick with a cold.
Apr. 5 Fri.
Rainy morning. Father, Mother, Trudy & I lunched together at Sibleys (Edith left at 9:35) We shopped later. Tonight Edith came up & we played "flinch" &c.
Apr. 6. Sat
"Brite and fare". Trudy not feeling well & stayed a bed
this a.m. Lunched with me at Duffy's at noon (a good lunch too) and then Mary found her and they went
