Tonight all the
girls went to see "The Taming of the Shrew"- a
Lewis part
July 26-27. Wed. Thu.
more
than a Bonstell one! Wed. & Thu. uneventful. J.W. got home. Papa read to us.
July 28. Fri.Mary invited the girls (including
Miss Hutchison, Miss Hutchison &
Miss Dickens) up to supper to meet
Matie. Everyone had on white and we
ate outdoors. It was lovely till time for dessert - when a shower came
up so we all hustled in - table & all. Spent the evening on the
piazza talking - Quite like old times - Home early.
July 29. Sat.
After a week of perfect
weather, of course it clouded up for Saturday. I went up to
Conesus, by invitation, however, Gilmore was on the train & sat with
me part way. And Edith
too but she was with some Vacuum Oil girls going up to
Grace Spies' cottage for the afternoon. I read
"A Habitation Enforced" - Kipling's
latest in the Century. Rode up on the
Jaeger (both sides of the lake) to
Strowger's Point ( formerly Mc- Pherson's) and
then charged to the
Alice M. and finally arrived at the new Fruit Kitchen dock about
4. and did the usual things that night.
