picture & postals & a lot to say about it Henry has gained 9 oz. a week the last two-weeks and tho' he still looks very thin we are much cheered up about him. He went out in his carriage his grand- mother gave him and I tried his picture ('cause he's four months old today) tho' it was very dark for it clouded up about noon. Walked down to the Davis - Chrichton house and had a visit with Kitty & later with the Davises. Frances is a dear. She weighs 15 lbs (nearly 4 more than Henry) & is a husky little thing - fat & fair. She hasn't as much hair as Henry. Came home & got supper (awfully hungry) and wrote & read. Jan 7-8 Mon-Tues. Quiet & uneventful. Papa about sick with a cold - Tues. Mother lunched with us at Seel's & we got her new suit - black coat & skirt - at Edwards

. Reading magazines now days. Jan 9. Wed. Snow and fine winter weather. Lunched to- night at the Mechanics & then went over to the Library & read the Harper's. After 8 went to 39 S. Wash. St. to call on Mae & Jno. Stull, Mr. & Mrs. Will Riley were there too, but did not stay long as Mrs. R.
had toothache. They go to Florida Tuesday. He used to
