Jan. 2 Wed. Fred Boyce home sick a bed all day (& Mother waiting on him) Rode down with Mary this noon. Read &c. Jan. 3. Thurs. Poured all day long. Smith was here & wanted me to go to lunch with him - but I didn't. Went to Seel's & lunched with Miss Fulton. Then to Mrs. Weston's about my dress. Smith walked all the way home with me. Fred was down to supper - Poured hard all evening. Jan 4 Fri. Still pouring this morning - but cleared some & got cold later. Papa grippy too - lunched with him at Sibley's then went & had Nan brush my hair - a dark day. Fred still home. Jan 5 Sat. Fine and bright. Walked down with Miss Wood - stopped to see Edith. Flack was very sick last night. Inflammatory rheumatism affected his heart & they tho't he would die. Miss. F. was crying. He came down for 10 minutes. J.W. has a big party tonight - in honor of his 10th Anniversary (tomorrow) I stopped in at the Bijou & saw some fine Niagara Falls views. Tonight went to "The College Widow" with Laura (up stairs) & enjoyed it immensely (the second time) Edith Andrews called on her way to Mexico
and I went to lunch with her this noon - we ate(!) for over an home and had quite a visit. Jan 6. Sun Fine Spring - like morning. Claude phoned down to invite me to dinner. Josephine was there and I had such a nice time with her. She had her foreign
