After dinner & dishwashing & cats, &c, went upstairs & read till dark & then took a nap(!) & dressed. After late supper, wrote. A nice letter from Alice yesterday. Their driving trip! Oct. 15 Mon. Fine day. Came home to dinner as Mother claims she's able. Saw Hattie Arnold at Lura's - looking natural & well She told me about Hay Island falls &c. Oct. 16. Tues. Fine day. Lunched at Sibley's with G.C.B. & K.E.B. & shopped with Mother afterward. Changed my new coat for a larger size. Read tonight. Oct. 17 Wed Another fine day. Mother sent up little Henry's bed - a lovely one all finished - Marion Brower (Hattie Arnold's nine-yr-old) called on me this p.m. She's a nice youngster. Mother went to prayer-meeting. I read & had a concert. Oct. 18 Thurs Wonderful weather - A perfect day. The new "People's Department Store" opened in the Cutler Bldg - with band &c. J.G. got home from N.Y. Emerich was in. Oct.19 Fri. Pouring rain all day & evening. Started about 8 a.m. & never stopped once. Had to have lights in early p.m. Lunched at Sibleys with G.C.B. & went to the Bijou ("Waiting at the Church" &c) Oct Went over in the evening, last night, to bid Meta & Theo goodbye. They went to N.Y. at 11 p.m.
