Claude came down to dinner with us. I read
Fenwick's career &c. A rainy Sunday is nice for a change.
Jun. 18. Mon.Mother went to Prof.
Webster's funeral and
Father & I lunched at Sibley's. Then I bought a new gray silk
dress at McCurdy's. quite pretty. Rained hard tonight.
Jun. 19 Tues.
Better today. Busy. Papa & I went to "Floradora"
at the Baker's & found it very
good. At least we enjoyed it.
Jun. 20 Wed.Gilmore left for Blue Mt.
Lake via. old the
Fulton Chain & Busy of course. Read tonight.
Jun. 21 Thur.
Perfect June day - the kind
they always have on Fire & Police Inspection. It was
all on Main St. right under our windows this
year (as East Ave. is torn up)& we enjoyed it as
it was unusually fine. Flack had
gone sailing with Franklyn Hurleigh and
Crippen to Lockport - so J.W. & "the girls" were all there -
but Fred
- Was awfully busy & had to stay late.
Went to the National tonight - A very threatening
looking storm came up - but it didn't amount to anything.
Mary was late in consequence however (changing her
duck skirt &c.) We didn't get down to our seat (7) till after the
first Act. but that was plenty. The new co. is fierce -
Laughlingly bad - We enjoyed it.
Jun. 22 Fri.
Still threatening. Lunched at
Sibley's. To- night went
around to the Frank Davises (on a message from
Mrs. D.
) to read a letter from
Chattie - Pt. au - Baril
& see some pictures of the
hotel - Mr.
& Mrs. O.B.D. and Lilian's sister were there
