met her and Mother and we lunched at
Sibley's and shopped &c. Mother got a new black wool taffeta dress.
Mrs. Andrews a pearl gray voile
(over pink silk) and blue tailor suit &c. (She's going to
commencement) She went home this p.m. Tonight I went to see Jno.
Drew in "Delancey" - (the top) sat with
Lura & Marie and enjoyed it as always, late home.
Apr. 28 Sat.
Still fine. J.W. got home this p.m. Things are "doing"
on the business and there is lively competition. Saw a runaway crash
into Edwards
Wrote, figured and read tonight. We
are invited to Cro'nest tomorrow - for
Papa's birthday and "to congratulate
Char"!
Apr. 29 Sun.
A lovely warm Spring day. We
went up to
Cro'nest to a good dinner and
afterward sat on the piazza and out doors and had a nice visit.
Char read me a poem of
Mr. Lodge's about Harry's
friend who went blind and then died - a most beautiful and touching
poem (and a most inter- esting man). I took some picture of the
"family' and we talked a little of the Coming Event. Later I
went up to Charlotte (by car). Had
a visit with Mr. & Mrs. H the
girl from Sweden
I met at the "Y" - and
later a nice little chat with Chattie alone - inside.
