"The Virginian" 4/10/06.
perfect as far as I can see and Steve too. And his smile is worth a dollar. The "Molly Wood" was Otho Stull's wife's sister. She wasn't up to it, but most of the characters were very good. It certainly pleased me. Apr. 11 Wed. Almost choked today. Was afraid I had diphtheria. Lunched with the family at Sibley's and went shopping a little with Mother later. Got a sweet little note from Chattie inviting me up to supper tonight and it turned out to be a "birthday party". Marion Peck had the other birthday. It took me a long while to place her(!) but when I did she bored me fearfully. She is the most deadly serious creature I ever met. A pity for she'd be quite a stunner with a bit of animation. She reminds me of Clara what's her name I met on Lake Thum! - homesick for Boston &c. Helen has a year's leave of absence from May 15th & the Skipper is already in Canada. Mother telephoned, after supper, that Edith Andrews was there, so I went down to the station in time to say "Goodbye" to her - her last trip to college. She looks better. Apr. 12 Thurs. Beautiful day - Sent Chattie "Lady Baltimore". Still have a bad throat & Gilmore a stiff neck! Papa read and I made stock for Mother tonight. Apr. 13 Fri. Gilmore home today - and the rest of us very busy - all in my charge. J.W.C. went automobiling. Read the "Gambler" tonight while Mother was at
