Apr. 5 1906 Thurs. Cloudy today & rained tonight. At 5:30 Lura & I went to the "Y" to the sale - which was a great success. Mother was there and Mrs. Davis & Mrs. Olin. They ate supper downstairs & I ate upstairs with Kitty Crichton, Mr. & Mrs. Bridges & a Mr. Sykes. When we came away about 8:30 it was snowing! Read later. Apr. 6. Fri. Everything covered with snow this morning & still snowing. It must have looked like a blizzard to Mary& Edith when they started for Washington at 6:50 a.m. It proved to be rather a pepper and salt affair however and was all gone by afternoon. I took Flora Vogel to lunch at Sibley's and they we sat with Miss Hutchinson and Miss Dickens and had a real jolly time but were long at table. Dressed in a rush after supper and went down to the "Y" to take Mother's wedding dress (which she gave me) to Miss Dickens to wear to the "Aunt Hannah's Quilting Party" they gave in the evening for the Vacation House. It was very good - very well done and funny. Had a chat with Hamilton afterwards. He starts for Georgian Bay Sunday night. Helen has a year's leave of absence & intends to go early & stay late too. Apr. 7 Sat. Finished "Roderick Hudson" tonight. We formed a "pool" at the office and bought some of Harding's gold mine stock - I - 200 shares, Flack 100, Lura 100, Miss Flack & Miss McA.
