shirt waists - 5 of them. Tonight Papa and I went to the Baker Theatre and saw "The
Ensign" with little Gertrude Miller
in it. It was
so very bad that is was very amusing. Mr.
Behn and
Frieda were there too & came home
with us.
Mar. 31 Sat.
Colder & sunny. I am really
about caught up with my work now - but
J.W. is coming home probably Monday!
I don't envy him his trip much. He sort of "walked past" the places one
wants to see. Shopped a little and after supper Mr. Van
Etten, the Marconi man called - Later I read
aloud & sewed.
Apr. 1. Sun.
Sunny but not hot! Claude (and Carlie) came down to dinner. I went down to
Edith's for a little while and she
lent me "The Gambler" which I read a while, later.
Apr. 2. Mon.
Pleasant. My last day of
"grace" before J.W.
comes. Worked on
my trial balance and finished it a little before 6. Sat up late reading
the "House of the Thousand Candles"
which Gilmore let me have
Apr. 3. Tues.
Beautiful spring day.
JWC. got here this morning
(Spent $600 in his 3 weeks) About 401 "dagos" began digging a sewer on
Hubbell Park. Finished my book tonight
& played flinch.
Apr. 4 Wed.
Nicely caught up (at last) at
the office I wrote some letters tonight while Mother
went to church. Read "Roderick
Hudson" (nearly finished) which I am enjoying
shirt waists - 5 of them. Tonight Papa and I went to the Baker Theatre and saw "The
Ensign" with little Gertrude Miller
in it. It was
so very bad that is was very amusing. Mr.
