into the city too early. And it was about
five - after much sidewalk work - that we sailed up to Edith's I found the
Bride &
Groom,
only, at home. Washed our faces & hands & sat down for 20 minutes
before starting up home - which trip we did in about 15 min. without
getting off at all. Frank & I
went home - with Mary & then he with
me. My cyclometer registered 600 1/4 miles- 100 this week! And 28
1/8 to-day. Felt fine when I'd had a warm bath and a doze and such a supper! No aches this trip.
Sept. 9. Mon.
Threatened rain. Did rain - so Ned &
Edith & Warren Fisk & I spent the evening at
Mary's - photographs - "Mrs
'Awkins" - fortunetelling (by me!) cards - grapes &c.
A big plate of green grapes for me and a pumpkin
for Ned. Edith & Ned saw me home & then I stood on the
corner till their car came. Mr.
Gilmore's birthday.
Sept. 10. Tues.
and he moved up from the Lake to day and his
father got home from Europe. A
lovely day. I have Diana's chain soaking in "coal oil" and cleaned it this a.m.
Saw
Charlotte this noon & met Ned & Hamilton (on wheels) just after. H. left us & Ned walked up to Adams St. with me
- where we sat and
1895.
