timed shot at the river gorge - from the bridge Oh! the velvet
colors on that river bank! It was like a feast. Finally we broke
away toward the Park and waited 10 minutes on a green velvet cushion
under a tree for our friends to arrive - & they did. We walked
in - sauntered - a mile or two. Saw Frank Witherspoon
wheeling. I posed the three beneath an oak on river bank and
photographed the smiles at Mary. I
even took a picture sunward - in shadow effects - and still we
sauntered on -
Mary sometimes riding Diana &
Ned riding a good deal. At the path
thro' the woods I took my steed, again & Ned & I rode among the trees to the lovely hilltop
where we always pause. We had time for a journey to the spring
before the girls arrived. I had to take that
view - tho' Mary remarked on
"small cameras" &c. & then we won pennies throwing stones
into a hole and they were my house party - and this was my house and
park. It was.
