Jan. 15. Wed.
had my pocket kodak down to me & think
I took Gilmore's picture. He snapped
it awhile at me & spoiled a plate - which I insisted on taking
my desk on, after- ward! Fine winter day outside. I went down for
Mary tonight & we met
Ned & went to see the
Hollands. It was a queer thing - the play - a very
Mansfield influence over it all. I think I liked it
better than the others did but was disappointed in Joseph
Holland. The funniest
girl - dressed in white - low neck behind - white felt walking hat -
pink feather fan - no gloves &c. all Della Fox in shape - sat down in front of us and amused us.
Ned came home with me. We saw
Mary home first. We three have
been trying to get Mr. Gillis a
stenographer today. Edith was up
before supper - with a tale of woe. She's to give up housekeeping &
"board". Ned talked it over with
me later. Hope it will come out all right.
Jan. 16. Thurs.
Lovely day. Ned, Claude & I walked down together -
C's new Chapbook
1896.
