Jan. 2. Thurs. A snowy day - Ned brought me $30.00 which begins the year financially well. Tonight she stopped & we went over to Claude's poster exhibit at the Mechanics Institute. Then I walked back to the car with her - & home. Read. Jan. 3. Friday. Another stormy day - very - Edith was up to say Ned had a cold & didn't dare go out tonight, so she wd. go to the theatre in her place. Mary, Charlotte, Frank , Edith & I all met in a blizzard - at Dake's - & went to see Daly's (?) Company in "Midsummer Night's Dream". I was a little disappointed (after "12th Night" in N.Y.) but enjoyed it never - the less - & my company. The fairy effects (electric &c.) were pretty - & the music & the Pyramus & Thisbe was very funny indeed. We came out into the cold storm & walked down to the hill - almost frozen - to just catch the (late) 11 o'clock cars Jan. 4. Sat. Another snowy day. Winter is really here.
