time and the scene was not changed at all.
Frank & Hamilton were upstairs & met us at the entrance - to
escort the "simple" girls home
Oct. 27 Sunday
A beautiful, warm, autumn Sunday. I did the work this morning &
made a few blue prints &c. Had an early dinner & about 2 got
on my wheel & went for
Mary. She was playing the piano - &
she read to me & wanted me to stay &c. till 2:30 & then
got on her wheel and we went to Edith's & Ned's - where we stayed 15 minutes and were urged to "stay
longer" and "come back". We went to "the meeting place" & in 10
minutes Hamilton came. He had been to
Mary's and missed us. We went
down into Seneca Park & rode
about it and watched the river. It was beautiful. The foliage has begun to darken but is gorgeous,
nevertheless.
Hamilton took us down to the lovliest
little glen with a bridge across it - where we could look on to the tops
of yellow clumps of trees - with backgrounds of dark green &
red. We sat up on the Refectory Hill - with the lovely lake
& hill view an hour, I should think. Started home at 10 min. of
5 & had a head wind against
1895
time and the scene was not changed at all.
