Trolley to the L. below cypress hills and there we got on another train to Nostrand Ave - and walked down 4 or 5 blocks (past the Girl's High School & some stunning flats opposite - to Putnam Ave - and it was only a step to #299 - in "The Cambridge". The Willards are on the top floor and Mrs. Jones had come & we had quite a gay time. We had dinner first and then Anagrams and did not get to bed until 12:30 Carl is lovely - Trousers & curls & the same sweet baby smile & funny way of saying "A" & almost-lisp. He showed me all his playthings! May 26 Sunday Mama & I slept in almost a single bed - but were very tired & slept well enough. Sue, Mate (with a box of photographs) & Dem & Carl all came in in the morning & we had a long chat in our "nighties". Mrs. J. is deciding whether to got to Hackettstown (with the new principal) or to Herkimer to teach. She goes to Hackettstown for the summer - with Grace Hedger.
