May Bragdon Diary, December 26, 1895 – December 28, 1895, p. 269

and had a real good time. He is nice & funny. We made a bad enough score & expected to be tied with Mary & Griswold for the Booby. At the end of the 9th game (as we thought, the last) they had it - but they played another & we got it. A drum for McL. & a bottle of Curtice's "Catchup" for me! We all took the last car home - wading thro' slush. Miss French herself & Mr. Drake the Silent took first. Dec. 27. Fri. Pleasant winter day. I met Charlotte & we went to the Lyceum &c. together. Met Mr. Seward & Charlotte sent her love to Mr. Adams & said she was going to call. We stopped in Smith Perkins & I walked up with Mary. "A pleasant walk - a pleasant talk". Charlotte went to spend her 10 gold piece. Mrs. Jones was here tonight - all night & we spent the evening quite together chatting & having a nice old-fashioned time. I got "Alice in Wonderland" with my $1.00 Dec 28. Sat. Nice day. Stopped to see Ned this noon & tonight Edith came for me & I walked down with her - to tea. They've changed everything all around there again. Ned's bed is upstairs &c.&c. It looks very pretty. They made me tell fortunes
