car & went up & saw Charlotte & Helen.
Read them the letter & we talked & talk- ed & then they
came down & saw me on the car. Mr. & Mrs. D. &
Hamilton were there.
July 18. Thurs.
Shopped some to-day - a lovely day. Got some rubber soled shoes (as
Helen
advised me) &c. Tonight Geo.
Humphrey
was here when I got home. Stopped at Mary's 10 minutes. After supper rode over to see if
Klem Goodyear wanted a ride.
It was a lovely night. She had lent her wheel. Made quite a long
call there. Then rode 'way out
Genesee Street to the Rapids & down
Plymouth Ave. home. Arrived before dark!
July 19. Friday.
Warm & disagreeable. Stopped at Mary's at noon. Tonight we all went to the Opera
"Chimes of Normandy". Mary, Alice,
Nellie MacA, Lura, Matie Arnold,
Miss Hutchinson, Charlotte, Miss Scott
& myself. We sat very near & some of the illusion was lost.
It poured during the evening & the girls had on light dresses &
no umbrellas. Didn't rain when it was out, however, until just
before we got home. Had a little chat with Mrs. Behn
on her front steps. Was invited to a "Musicale" there tonight.
