ride to the car on Ned's wheel &
we put the girls all aboard and kept in sight (before & behind)
their car till we left St. Paul St.) At the
Deaf Mute AsylumRose Mills got in & then we passed
Effie LaTrace - wheeling - & then
Mrs. Dr. Mulligan. We staid on all the way
across the river & up the Avenue
& Ned escorted me to
State St. It was crowded - but I curled my way
along. Thankful for a delicious country afternoon. The lights came
up as I crossed the canal bridge and on Plymouth
Ave., I passed Mary & Emma Mac.
Walking - I walked too - and am to join their
pedro Club - sure! Supper - & dear
Mother & Claude & Papa - who
leaves us for N.Y. tomorrow - & then a
pleasant coffee - chat - at dinner and an evening in the big arm chair at
Meredith's story in Scribner's! So passed the
day. I found a sweet little note from Charlotte - an apology for last night, - beginning:
"Never the time and the place
And the loved one all together!" Now to bath and
to bed with me.
