about the Davis' invitation for this
p.m. After dinner I changed my dress & sat on the steps &
read awhile & then Mary
came & we went to Davis'. I
took some (rather unsuccessful) bicycle pictures of Charlotte &
Mr. D. in the back yard. Helen
looked sweet in pale blue muslin.
We sat on the steps & talked. "Tom" came about 5 - but no
Mr. Stanbury. Left him on the road - waited, went
back - missed him - must have gone to his boat. Ned came & we chatted & discussed
Stoney Lake affairs & then had tea
& talked more. Mr. Struthers
left about 8:30 or so - very much used up after a sleepless night on the
boat. We came away about 9:30. Helen & Charlotte
went with us to the car - Frank
& Hamilton were both away. Told
Mama & Gertrude about it when I got back &
then they told me
