about the Davis' invitation for this p.m. After dinner I changed my dress & sat on the steps & read awhile & then Mary came & we went to Davis'. I took some (rather unsuccessful) bicycle pictures of Charlotte & Mr. D. in the back yard. Helen looked sweet in pale blue muslin. We sat on the steps & talked. "Tom" came about 5 - but no Mr. Stanbury. Left him on the road - waited, went back - missed him - must have gone to his boat. Ned came & we chatted & discussed Stoney Lake affairs & then had tea & talked more. Mr. Struthers left about 8:30 or so - very much used up after a sleepless night on the boat. We came away about 9:30. Helen & Charlotte went with us to the car - Frank & Hamilton were both away. Told Mama & Gertrude about it when I got back & then they told me Jim

had really gotten lost - but found our house & was fed & comforted & sent to the boat rejoicing. Such fun for the girls...! And he's coming again! Aug. 19. Monday. Lovely day. Bright & beautiful. Busy of course. Geo. Humphrey was up a few few minutes & I rode down to Adams St. with him. There Mary, Helen, Frank, Charlotte & I met a little after six and
