to say that my skirt was ready - and anyway to come down for Ned might be there. I went but she hadn't come. My skirt is very pretty. Edith fondled me upstairs while the bride & groom entertained visitors below. She also walked way up to White St. with me. where I took my car. Read "Good Hunting". Aug. 15. Thurs. Still lovely. A letter from Mr. Struthers in true Canadian style and saying he - & perhaps "Jim

"! - are coming next Sunday to call (!) on me & "The dear girls". I therefore informed said girls & we're all invited up there to tea Sunday p.m. Tonight Mary was up for half an hour - & Geo. Humphrey came while she was here - on his wheel. She had just gone when Charlotte & Helen came & then Edith and Ned & we did have a jolly time talking Stony Lake. Ned says she has really learned to swim! Prof. Forbes taught her - Oh, lucky girl. They went home about 10 and I read "Jimty".

Aug. 16. Friday A lovely day, but rather warm. Ned & Edith were up this noon. It's nice to have the dear girl running in again. We discussed pictures &c.
