I took one picture from the moving train as a sort of experiment. I
might have taken dozens. At Mt. Morris, while
we stopped quite a while (& changed) I took the view we looked upon -
where a man drove an impatient horse up & down. On the way to
Geneseo I took another from the moving train,
but doubt if I got in the "object" desired. At
GeneseoHarry & Ida Joiner came in - & a very swagger hunting gentle-
man - who had evidently arrived in a yellow dog-cart (which I took).
There was an air of country-house & hunting-gentleman - all the
way from Mt. M. to Avon
& the horses in the pastures were noticably "blooded" & many
dock-tailed. We arrived home at 5:55 - a cold
evening but no trace of snow. Went to Harned's for an oyster stew before
returning going home. Read "The Woman in
White" & almost had a chill when went to bed. Mama "hot-Serenaded" me.
Oct. 22 Tues.
Pleasant day. Still cold. Busy of course. Saw Mary, Charlotte & Ned
at various intervals and got tickets
