Frederica got supper - a delicious one -
everything is first class at camp - and served a la what- ever
dishes happen to be at hand. After supper we rowed back to Viamede, where the girls left us for the
night. Mary & I sat on the
rocks and down in front of the house a long time - in the evening. The
loons made lonesome noises and we seemed so far from civilization. We went to bed about 8:30, as we were very tired - after last night's wakefulness -
and right to sleep.
July 26. Friday.
I did not waken till 7 - 10 good hour's sleep - and felt so much better. It was a really cold - but pleasant - morning. We had oatmeal
"porridge" served in soup plates - and boiled potatoes, &c. for
breakfast. True Canadian, I suppose. Mrs.
Dymond,
a beautiful woman, sat at our table, she has 3
little children
Helen Mary
(or "Boo") Guy
(or "Bo-boo") and the baby, Arthur
. The others are about 4 and 2 1/2, I should say & very
sweet & cute. At the other table were a young man (Mr.
Struthers) & his 2 sisters, Bella
&
May (?) and aunt, Mrs. Stanberry
- a large, good- natured blonde - all in mourning. This youth
