Nov. 21 Thurs.
Ground covered with snow and still at it.
Mary was up this noon (office) and
tonight she stopped for me and we went down to Edith's church to the "Festival of
Holidays" & supper. Ate with
Mr. & Mrs. Cross, Freddie & "Tuesday" - a very nice
supper. Mary bought me a carnation
& I bought a doll Edith
dressed - we went home early.
Ned come back tonight at 10:30.
Nov. 22. Fri.
Cold, snowy & wintry - Children delighted & sliding down
hill - All I can do to get back & forth these days -
walking. Gilmore
& I were justu
betting a pumpkin pie on the result of the Princeton -
Yale football game to- morrow when Ned & Edith came & we had a half-hour visit & I did a
little shopping with them. They tried to coax me to go down to
supper, but I was tired & resisted. Wrote tonight & read. Got a
12 page letter - very nice - from Mrs. Graham
yesterday.
Nov. 23. Sat.
A "weepy" day - all fog and moisture. The loveliest tones of gray
& brown and lurid atmosphere. It was a pleasure to just watch
the electric lights glimmer thro' it - and the Granite bldg. wasn't visible from
1895.
