Ned came home to supper with me. I got it while she read Claude's letters (extracts) in tonight's Post Express.) After supper we walked down to Mary's but didn't find her. Then on down Plymouth Ave. where we met her & Emma & then to several places to get Ned shoes (but didn't succeed.) We put each other on our cars then. Sept. 1. Sunday A perfect day, I think. I was sleepy enough, but got up in time to be off on Diana at 9 o'clock. Stopped for Mary but she didn't care to go. Went for Ned (who says "Oh, May, to think of all the years I've missed not having a wheel!") & found her ready & away we went for Seneca Park. Down Lake Ave, I did Frank's act - running behind and fixing skirts &c. & on Driving Park Ave. bridge I stopped for a little picture of the down the river view. We reached the waiting place in good shape - the breezy blue - & green morning making Ned more en- thusiastic than ever! and waited half an hour for Frank & Charlotte - meantime amusing ourselves watching
