June 20 Thurs. Gilmore started on his Vacation last night & W m

came in this a.m. J.G. is back & was down bright & early. We had 5 contracts to-day! Broke the record. J.W. gave me some dictation (as Martha was sick & didn't come till 10:45 or so.) He talked & talked & talked to me - golf - bicycling - accidents - bowling - genealogy - &c.&c. Yesterday we conversed on "Stedmania". He is very "folksy". Was very busy all day. At noon Mama & I went over to our church & saw Mr. Stull & Mrs. Galusha married - Otho & Alice Hussey stood up with them. Mrs. Arink - Lib Farrar, Mrs. Chapin & Mrs. Goler sat on near us. Then we went to Sibley's to lunch & I went to M. & F's to order a bicycle lesson for Ned. Was very tired to-night & lying on the divan when Geo. Humphrey came for an hour or so. I read him Claude's letters & we had a pleasant talk. Then I wrote. June 21. Friday. Poured all the morning - alas! for Mrs. Behn's lawn party! They made preparations just the same. Saw Ned at
