this morning. At noon went with Charlotte & had a "Thrill" hearing the ravings of Mad John McCullough thro' the phonograph. Charlotte made me go home to dinner with her and I had a real good time - & dinner - with her, Papa & Mama Davis & Frank. Walked up Plymouth Ave. tonight & saw the big white horses running to the fire & heard Belle Cotchefer

talk about going away. They've just sold out. Wrote most of the evening. (We all did.) Sun. Feb. 2. Got up rather late and devoted the morning to washing and drying my hair by the wood fire. Also read some in "Scrib." After dinner and rather late - in fact, after dark for Papa & Mama sat "spooning" by the firelight. I made chocolate caramels and Ned & Edith came in the midst of it and we had a "merry chat" and they helped us eat them and some oranges. We had a very late supper - just before going to bed. Mon. Feb. 3. Made an appointment with Dr. Scrantomthis noon - he has a nice new office - overlooking the river &c. Met Mary going to dinner at Sibley's and later Ned. J.G. dictated all. Read tonight. Feb. 4. Tues. Snow storm to-day. Nedhad an interview with Dr. Durand about a room there. He is to let her know.
