upstairs in the above was lighted much better and was a very fine thing, I think, representing the history of the delivery of the children of Israel from the Egyptians &c. and a row of prophets & below. Dull tones relieved by much gilt & very fine. There is much wall space yet to be covered & one alcove down stairs is commenced. I was much pleased with the coloring everywhere. The silent leather - swinging doors between rooms &c. all was most harmonious & beautiful. Soon after one, Helen came and we had lunch down to Boyleston St. (saw the "Teck")
and then took a car across Charles River and out to Cambridge & Harvard Square - I didn't spend half time enough among the quaint old college buildings on the campus, for students were every where & "em- barrassed" us. The nice covered old buildings were lovely - & the new gates & all. The students looked nice - many were starting out toward the "gym." & ball
