1895.
"The Future Mrs. 'Awkins" (for Mary) and "Swim out O'Grady" (for Helen Davis.) Finally I whistled up "Jim Stanbury - who sat in the distance with the wheels - & he came up & in & we looked at the pictures & they told me how delighted everyone was with the prints I sent &c. and they staid till nearly eleven, when I slipped on my shoes (new - toothpicks!) & got on Diana & showed them the way to Mary's. Paralyzed Tom with the way I stepped on the wheel & rode away. He evidently is not used to the "American Mount". Mary introduced all her sisters (sooner or later) and Emma, Alice & Nellie went away on my wheel & two others - while "we" entertained the Torontos till after one (I should think) We sang "Mrs. 'Awkins" and then sat on the piazza. I took a "group of 3" there - Mary was just saying "May I don't want to be in any more groups" - Tom & Jim
were "looking interested & it proved good of them Then we wandered around the back yard & Mary pinned sweet peas on T. (picture) and we stole & ate green grapes and then came back to the piazza & talked (picture) & I took Mr. MacA., just after being introduced to the boys. We were all invited there to dinner and I invited them to my house - but they had to ride back to the beach to get some things. Told them
