tomb stone set in the wall &c.&c. Then came out & found a suburban car which Helen had directed us to and which took us out thro' the Back Bay district, Com. Av.
&c. &c and away out Beacon St. across the Back Bay fens, thro' lovely Brookline with beautiful house perched about on the hills, terraced lawns, hedges - & all manner of tasty landscaping. The good taste of those people in house building quite impresses me. There are almost no atrocities such as one sees everywhere else. The bricks - or one kind they use - are a most beautiful warm brownish gray - with white trimming & dark green shutters - a most harmonious affect. The street car tracks are in a grassy middle-place - between two boulevards - and the ride is delightful. We came within sight of the reservoir, which we visited! Walked along & finally sat beside
