& I had a nice long visit. The girls came back & we talked
"Stoney Lake - Creek -
Point - Pond" awhile 'till I said I must go home & went for
"Diana" came back there to pack my
bundle & the girls half-decided to go back with me (it was
beginning to look pretty much like rain) - when Lura
came - with a book - so they staid. I left them - Rode down the walk
& started forth from the trolley station at 11:15 - & staid
right on - past toll gates & all. The air was com- paratively
cool & the sky was gray - & in the 3rd mile it sprinkled some.
Kept right on up Deafmute Hill & across beautiful
Driving Park Bridge. With the gorgeous northern
view - every green leaf standing out in the clear atmosphere &
the mist from the big falls drifting across from the other side -
Passed a young man who'd just had a bad fall from his wheel (there
were plenty there to assist him) along up Lake Ave.
& when I reached Lorimer St. (about 12)
it began to rain quite briskly.
