was quite warm. Walked a block or so with Mary before six, and then met Ned & Mama at Fitzhugh Hall & we had supper together. Claude came in later. I bought a big cake and we walked up home with it & were just deciding what to do when Hamilton Davis ar- rived on his wheel. After a chat we sent him down for Mary and when they came we played euchre & Pedro - quite successfully. Ned went home comparatively early & then I got on my wheel & Mary & H. & I rode about the third ward - sometime in the track of a torchlight procession. Bed then. Nov. 8. Friday Looked like rain this am. I rode Diana & had to leave her down - for it poured. Took a last look in at the Loan Exhibit this noon & then went to Sib- ley's for lunch. Tonight I spent en- tirely re-arranging my room - which Mother & Mrs Schmidt cleaned to day. Claude is in Oswego & Papa in New York. Nov. 9. Sat. Poured all day long - Every thing that could got soaked through & I squandered several carfares. Stopped at Mary's & at Charlotte's this noon to show them
