picture which pleased him. Came home & we had a long and
pleasant call from Mrs. Chapin. It
was nearly 12 when she went. After our coffee and toast I sent
Mama to bed for an hour. Washed
the dishes. Put up a kitchen shelf, sewed a little & wrote
-& almost took a nap myself. Such a lovely
day!
May 3. Friday.
Lovely day -& warm. Helen came
for me at 5 and we went and selected some very swell Persian-blue
ground paper for her room at Edith's (the library.) Was late home to supper - we all were.
"John N" came.
May 4. Sat.
Lovely. Leaves coming out fine. Looked up
Mary this noon and found her in bed with
a broken sprained ankle - fell off of her
bicycle Thursday night! She was mad of
course and the ankle hurt, too.
May 5. Sun.
Warm - very warm indeed for May. Did not go to church, but read, etc
Rode over to Ed's on "Diana" about 3:30 and found Nina's fever had left her at noon & she
was very very weak & the Dr. (Smith) still with
her. Dr. Kellogg had been there too. Promised to come
over again in the evening.
