He was full of wondering questons about his Mama. Dr. Smith felt terribly. He cried like a child - almost - before he left. May 6 Monday We got up early - after very little sleep. I came home about 7 - after dressing John & helping Ted what I could. She is like a stone statue, almost - Dumb with grief - poor girl. Went to the office till 4:30 or so, when I got so used up & took the car for home & slept till after supper time. Mama came down this noon & we did a little shopping & had lunch at Sibley's. Stil very warm. The leaves & blossoms way out. It will not be a week till tomorrow since I saw the first one. Was completely used up tonight. Bed early. May 7. Tuesday A little cooler & rained some & threatened more. Staid home from the office this p.m. Sewed till 3:30 or so & then we went to the funeral. It was very sad. "Mother Best", "Mrs [illegible]", Geo & Fred were there - and LilTorrey
 & Altie Simmons, Mrs. Phillips, Mrs. Smith & many other friends. Profusions of flowers. Little John in a wonder - but looking so sweet.
